Live Appalachian and Irish tunes by Lydia Martin and family
Dear Friends, Neighbors and Guests,
when railroad transport developed to move coal from Appalachia to Maryland and the nation’s capital, railroad workers brought their music on banjos and fiddles along. Lydia Martin and family members have been collecting traditional old time and Irish tunes for many years.
You can hear them perform on the stage of Beans in the Belfry in the historic railroad town of Brunswick MD this Friday, September 9, at 7pm. Just two blocks from the railroad tracks in Brunswick, Beans in the Belfry Meeting Place and Café, is always a welcoming place to relax and refresh with a freshly made bacon-cheese-and-egg breakfast croissant, muffins, danishes, quiche, soups, paninis, tasty espresso drinks or a bottle of chilled French Rosé, a craft beer, a glass of local hard cider or flavored mead. You can sit inside and marvel at the century-old stained glass windows and their dedications to lives past, or enjoy our shady sidewalk and garden seating.
Not only will you find an eclectic comfy ambiance at ‘Beans’, but also delightful live music events:
Friday, September 9, at 7pm, well loved Lydia Martin and Family perform on banjo, fiddle, guitar, and Irish flute,
Friday, September 16, at 7pm, popular Craggy Island play traditional Irish tunes and rock.
Please make a $10 suggested donation at the door.
Most Sundays from 1pm to 6pm jammers gather at “Beans” for inspired old time and bluegrass mountain tunes and a lot of fiddling and strumming.
