After our three shows here in 2015, Beans has become a sort of home away from home for us. It’s located in a 100 year old, historic, restored church building nestled in downtown Brunswick, not too far from the
DC area. Andrew personally selected this lovable venue, and he describes it as follows: “Beans in the Belfry not only has great coffee, comestibles and service, but also an amazing and unique atmosphere. Perched on a slope of the railroad town, Brunswick, MD, Beans has made its home in a Victorian church that, like the town itself, has seen better days. Just a short drive from Frederick, Brunswick was the coaling station midway between Baltimore and Cumberland in the days before diesel locs, and the valley next to the avenue there is still full of trains. As in other new businesses in so many towns with faded glory, Beans is a phoenix showing the
profound integrity and dignity of the place, taking on another form in an attractive and, hopefully, profitable way. And the acoustics of the purple vaulted ceilings are perfect for the music programs they regularly have.”
